Monash Respiratory Clinic will operate 16 hours a day from 8am – 10pm at 476 Blackburn Road Glen Waverley, right near the Monash Freeway entrance and exit. The premises has ample parking, is well lit and fully accessible.

We have Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) available for patients with respiratory symptoms.

The clinic is a dedicated GP Respiratory Clinic for patients with low acuity respiratory symptoms. Our clinic is designed for treatment of symptomatic patients  (e.g. cough, sore throat, runny nose).

If you do not have respiratory symptoms and require a COVID-19 test only, an appropriate testing location can be found here

Patients can access a respiratory assessment and receive support in the immediate management of their condition.

We prefer patients to pre book an appointment through our online booking system. We are also able to accept a limited number of walk in patients.

At the clinic we will undertake full face-to-face respiratory assessments including respiratory virus PCR testing for COVID-19.

To ensure patients are made to feel as welcome and comfortable as possible, the service will replicate the standard process of visiting a doctor.

Once a patient is checked in to the clinic, they will be taken into an isolation room where they will initially consult with our nurse. The nurse will undertake a full set of observations and record in the patient management system.

The doctor will then consult with the patient and determine appropriate clinical management. If a PCR test is required, the nurse will do the swab and it will be sent to our pathology partner for processing.

We will be providing short-term management of patient’s acute, immediate respiratory needs, with longer term management supported by referral to back to patient’s regular GP.

Our doctors will provide written discharge within 48 hours to the patient’s regular GP following management of immediate respiratory illness.

Our nursing team will assist patients to access ongoing GP care where they don’t have a regular GP.

We will support patients who test positive to COVID-19 to receive care through the COVID Positive Pathways program, which links people to clinical care, monitoring and support services.

The clinic will operate as an Emergency Department diversion option, receiving warm referrals from general practices, pharmacies, COVID+ Pathways providers and Emergency Departments.

We will be providing services to people with and without a Medicare card, with no out of pocket costs to patients.

We can provide access to interpreters for all patients when required, including for patients who do not have Medicare cards.

All our team adhere to infection control guidelines and the use of PPE as per Victorian Government Guidelines.
